seed stitch hat finished!

it's almost 2 in the morning, and my hands are sore from knitting two together, but i finished the seed stitch hat. i'm proud to say that it fits great, despite having "winged it" and refused to follow a pattern.

(by the way, i knitted this on size 10 16in circular needles using two strands of "mutiny" at once. that's why it looks so chunky.)

now i don't have to wash my hair all winter, because i plan on wearing my new pink seed stitch hat all day every day.

Both projects came out really great, Jen! Oh, and anything that makes it easier to not wash your hair, I'm all for!

I really need to get a new circular for hats (I've only got sweater circs or the kind for legwarmers or babies!)

thanks michelle!

i feel like i use my size 10 16in circular needles for everything! i think it is definitely worth it for all knitters to have a set.

i really have to get a smaller set of needles though... i have nothing smaller than size 10 and now that i'm getting a bit more experienced at knitting there are a number of projects i want to do that require smaller needles.

Your hat looks great! I would definately get some smaller needles. I find that I'm most comfortable (less wrist pain and I'm faster) knitting on 2mm-4mm (US 0-6). Size 10 seems huge to me now, even the 6 seems kinda large!

It was only this spring that I said something in a yarn store about how I would never knit with small needles again (and I was referring to size 8s!) Now I knit with small ones (the tie I'm knitting is with 1s) a lot cause I'm loose girl. Next needle, definitely the 16" though I think I'll probably get a size 6 or 7. Buying needles seems pretty random to me sometimes cause I never know what size I'll actually need.
